Description

You will program and maintain the core IMS mainframe systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain IMS (DB and TM) subsystems, tools, and associated products.
• Perform system upgrades, maintenance (APARs/PTFs), and migrations to newer IMS versions.
• Manage SMP/E environments for software installation and maintenance.
• Monitor IMS system performance, tune parameters, and conduct capacity planning.
• Provide Level 3 technical support for IMS incidents and diagnose database recovery issues.

Required Skills

• 5+ years experience with IMS system administration.
• Proficiency in Z/OS environments.
• Experience supporting IMS integration with DB2, CICS, and related products.
• Knowledge of IMS Connect, ODBM, and BMPs.
• Familiarity with mainframe storage management (DFSMS, VSAM).
• Ability to develop automation scripts using REXX, CLIST, or JCL.
• Experience with JDBC and REST integration patterns.
• Proficiency in using performance monitoring tools like Mainview or OMEGAMON.
