Description

You will own the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IMS subsystems, tools, and associated products.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain IMS (DB and TM) subsystems, tools, and associated products (e.g., IMS Connect, IMS Tools, ODBM, BMPs).
• Perform system upgrades, maintenance (APARs/PTFs), and migrations to newer IMS versions.
• Manage SMP/E environments for maintenance and software installation.
• Monitor IMS system performance and tune parameters for optimal throughput and response times.

Required Skills

• 5+ years experience with IMS system installation and maintenance.
• Proficiency in z/OS, DB2, and CICS environments.
• Experience developing automation scripts using REXX, CLIST, or JCL.
• Knowledge of IMS integration to distributed systems (IMS Connect, JDBC, ODBM).
• Familiarity with mainframe storage management (DFSMS, VSAM).
• Experience with IMS database recovery, log, and buffer issue diagnosis.
• Knowledge of IMS utilities such as DFSURGU0, DFSURWF0, and HALDB tools.
• Familiarity with REST API integration initiatives.
• Strong problem-solving and performance analysis skills.
