Description

You will provide high-level architectural design and L3 technical support for mainframe storage systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead storage tech refresh projects for tape and DASD, including design, execution coordination, and back-out procedures.
• Review, approve, and coordinate storage-related changes while developing critical problem-solving processes.
• Manage emergency procedures such as catalog forward recovery, alternate master catalog, and HSM CDS recovery testing.
• Prepare and submit storage-related I/O gen requests and validate I/O gen reports for accuracy.
• Act as the focal point for system audits, process improvements, and team training sessions.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Mainframe L3 architecture and storage design.
• Expertise in TS7700 and DS8900 architecture and features.
• Proven ability in Mainframe L3 storage support and critical problem solving.
• Experience managing large-scale storage implementations and tech refreshes.
• Knowledge of catalog forward recovery and HSM CDS recovery procedures.
• Ability to analyze new technologies like cloud storage to provide architectural recommendations.
• Willingness to work within EST hours.
