Description

You will own the technical architecture and standards for critical mainframe systems.

Responsibilities

• Design technical standards, guardrails, and document business processes based on code analysis.
• Define the technical approach for precision expansion across COBOL, DB2, VSAM, Assembler, and CICS components.
• Govern the separation of data and functional requirements for clearing and settlement applications.
• Own the integration and cutover design, including rollback strategies, ensuring SLAs are met.
• Review and approve cross-component changes to maintain consistency and quality.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of mainframe architecture experience.
• Deep expertise in z/OS internals, COBOL, DB2, VSAM, and QSAM.
• Experience with Assembler, CICS, and JCL / PROCs.
• Experience leading large-scale numeric precision and scale accounting system migrations.
• Proficiency with discovery and impact analysis tools.
• Strong knowledge of versioning, fallback, and cutover strategies.
• Ability to define data lineage and VSAM file update standards.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with clearing and settlement applications.
