Description

Lead the development and production support of large-scale mainframe applications and MMIS systems.

You will own the full development life cycle, from requirements analysis and technical specification to design and implementation. You will write, test, and debug online and batch code using COBOL and associated technologies. You will provide production support for online and batch programs, JCL, and operational issues, including on-call duties. You will mentor a team of Mainframe Systems Development Specialists and serve as the technical expert on development projects. You will analyze system problems, design technical solutions, and manage user requirements and project updates.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full development life cycle from requirements analysis to implementation.
• Write, test, and debug online and batch code using COBOL and CICS.
• Provide production support for online and batch programs, JCL, and operational issues.
• Mentor a team of Mainframe Systems Development Specialists.
• Analyze system problems and design technical solutions.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in mainframe development and analysis.
• Proficiency with COBOL, COBOL II, and CICS.
• Experience with VSAM, JCL, and TSO/ISPF.
• Hands-on use of IBM Utilities, File Master, VIEW, and Endevor.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform systems analysis.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Information Technology.

Preferred Skills

• 8+ years of experience as a programmer/analyst in a mainframe environment.
• Experience with Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) or healthcare claims processing.
• Previous team management experience.
