Description

You will manage and maintain IBM MQ infrastructure within a mainframe environment.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design MQ architecture patterns and define objects including queues, channels, process definitions, and topics.
• Manage MQ installation, upgrades, maintenance, and configuration across the environment.
• Execute IBM MQ utilities for message handling, backups, and record management.
• Monitor message processing and CPU usage using MQ Explorer, OmegaMon for MQ, TEPS, and SMF statistics.
• Automate daily health checks and dead letter queue processes while coordinating vendor incident resolution.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of experience in IBM MQ administration.
• Expertise in MQ clustering, queue sharing, and queue manager creation/migration.
• Proficiency in managing pagesets and bufferpools for application growth.
• Strong knowledge of MQ connections to CICS, DB2, and IMS.
• Experience with MQ product installation and troubleshooting.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent graduate level education.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of MQSeries and MQClients on distributed platforms.
• Experience with Mainframe z/OS, JCL, VSAM, ISPF, and COBOL.
