Description

Manage all phases of MQ engineering and operations within a high-volume, 24x7 large-scale Sysplex environment.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain IBM MQ resources, including channels and queues.
• Perform MQ software maintenance and problem determination, interfacing with IBM Support when necessary.
• Manage MQ performance, tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning through trending reports.
• Support in-house tools such as MQI wrappers, CICS trigger monitors, and channel security exits.
• Execute Disaster Recovery procedures and tests and provide periodic on-call support.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in MQ engineering and operations.
• Expertise in MQ Data Sharing within large Sysplex environments and high availability concepts.
• Proficiency with z/OS functions including APF, Link list, LPA, and VSAM.
• Experience with JCL, REXX, and internal tool development.
• Knowledge of Java, Kafka, and MQ Confluent Connectors in a mainframe environment.
• Hands-on experience with Sysview for MQ and CA-Neuromics Analyzer.
• Ability to support application developers in batch and CICS environments.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with CICS TS V6.1+, SMP/E, and external security via RACF or CA-Top Secret.
• Prior application programming experience, specifically with COBOL.
