Description

You will manage all phases of MQ engineering and operations within a high-volume, 24x7 large-scale Sysplex environment.

Responsibilities

• Define IBM MQ resources including channels and queues.
• Perform MQ software maintenance and problem determination, including interfacing with IBM Support.
• Execute MQ performance tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning through trending reports.
• Manage disaster recovery procedures and testing.
• Support in-house tools such as MQI wrappers, CICS trigger monitors, and channel security exits.
• Provide periodic on-call support and maintenance outside of normal working hours.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of relevant experience in MQ engineering.
• IBM MQ expertise in large Sysplex environments using MQ Data Sharing.
• Deep understanding of High Availability concepts.
• Proficiency with z/OS functions including APF, Link list, LPA, and VSAM.
• Experience with Sysview for MQ and CA-Neuromics Analyzer.
• Technical knowledge of Java, Kafka, and MQ Confluent Connectors in a mainframe environment.
• Ability to develop internal tools using JCL and REXX.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with CICS TS V6.1 and SMP/E knowledge.
• Knowledge of external security tools such as RACF or CA-Top Secret.
• Application programming experience, specifically COBOL.
