Description

You will own the engineering, operations, and maintenance of IBM MQ resources within a large-scale, high-volume Sysplex environment.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Define and manage IBM MQ resources, including channels and queues.
• Perform software maintenance, problem determination, and performance tuning, including capacity planning via trending reports.
• Manage disaster recovery procedures and conduct regular testing.
• Support in-house tools such as MQI wrappers, CICS trigger monitors, and channel security exits.
• Provide periodic on-call support and maintenance outside of normal working hours.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in MQ engineering within large Sysplex environments using MQ Data Sharing.
• Deep understanding of High Availability concepts.
• Proficiency with z/OS functions including APF, Link list, LPA, and VSAM.
• Experience with Sysview for MQ and CA-Neuromics Analyzer.
• Technical knowledge of Java, Kafka, and MQ Confluent Connectors in a mainframe environment.
• Ability to develop internal tools using JCL and REXX.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with CICS TS V6.1 and SMP/E knowledge.
• Knowledge of external security tools such as RACF or CA-Top Secret.
• Application programming experience, specifically COBOL.
