Description

You will manage MQ engineering and operations within a large-scale 24x7 Sysplex environment.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain IBM MQ resources, including channels and queues.
• Perform software maintenance, problem determination, and capacity planning via trending reports.
• Support in-house tools such as MQI wrappers, Kafka trigger monitors, and channel security exits.
• Manage disaster recovery procedures and execute regular testing.
• Provide periodic on-call support for maintenance outside normal working hours.

Required Skills

• 4+ years of experience in MQ engineering and operations.
• Expertise in IBM MQ within a large Sysplex environment using MQ Data Sharing.
• Deep understanding of High Availability concepts.
• Proficiency with z/OS functions: APF, Link List, LPA, and VSAM.
• Ability to develop internal tools using JCL and REXX.
• Familiarity with Java, Kafka, and MQ Confluent Connectors in a mainframe environment.
• Experience with Sysview for MQ and CA-Neuromics Analyzer.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with CICS TS V6.1 and SMP/E.
• Knowledge of external security protocols including RACF and CA-Top Secret.
• Application programming experience, specifically Cobol.
