Description

You will own the support, maintenance, and operational aspects of IBM MQ environments.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Support MQ implementations on z/OS and IBMi, including creating and maintaining QMGRs, queues, and channels.
• Manage the MQ lifecycle, covering PLM, upgrades, maintenance, testing, and integrations.
• Design and maintain messaging flows, producing technical documentation and diagrams.
• Monitor MQ status, troubleshoot issues, tune performance, and configure alerting using tools like Prometheus/Grafana and Splunk.
• Participate in on-call rotations for technical support and assist with Disaster Recovery exercises.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in IBM MQ support.
• Proficiency with z/OS utilities: ISPF, JCL, SDSF, JES, PDSE, and VSAM.
• Experience with MQ on z/OS and familiarity with IBMi MQ.
• Knowledge of MQ APIs and application interaction patterns.
• Familiarity with core mainframe technologies: DB2, CICS, IMS, and TCP/IP.
• Experience with MQ connectivity methods, including batch, clustering, and direct client connections.
• Understanding of change, incident, and problem management processes.
• Bachelor's degree required.
