You will manage, secure, and optimize IBM MQ infrastructure on z/OS, ensuring high availability and security for data sharing environments.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain IBM MQ on z/OS using SMP/E, including Cluster Queue Managers and Queue Sharing Groups.
• Design MQ message flows, define queue managers, objects, and channels, and deliver environments in collaboration with development teams.
• Manage MQ security and compliance by defining profiles in RACF and implementing channel encryption.
• Perform problem diagnostics, root cause analysis, and coordinate with IBM support to resolve PMRs.
• Provide 24/7 on-call support, plan disaster recovery exercises, and improve MQ health check processes.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of experience in Mainframe MQ administration within data sharing environments.
• Strong expertise in installing and maintaining IBM MQ on z/OS using SMP/E.
• Proficiency with Cluster Queue Managers, Queue Sharing Groups, and MQ utilities/traces.
• Knowledge of MQ channel encryption, security, and RACF system definitions.
• Experience setting up channels for external partners and guiding application developers on messaging flows.
• Ability to perform peer reviews of change events, assessing impacts and risks.
