Description

You will configure and administer IBM z/OS mainframe network software and related third-party system tools. You provide technical support for mainframe networking issues, including on-call support, and act as a primary resource for internal and external projects. You monitor network performance, initiate remedial actions, and produce clear technical documentation. You ensure compliance with all local, regional, global, and regulatory policies.

Responsibilities

• Configure and administer IBM z/OS mainframe network software and third-party system tools.
• Provide technical support for mainframe networking issues during business hours and on-call rotations.
• Monitor mainframe networking component performance and implement remedial actions.
• Produce clear technical documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory policies.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a technician with advanced skills in mainframe networking.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and associated products or protocols.
• Experience with SNA, VTAM, and APPN/Enterprise Extender.
• Proficiency with Connect Direct or similar file transfer products.
• Experience with session management products such as TPX or Teleview.
• Familiarity with network management products like NETVIEW or Netmaster.
• Knowledge of print server products such as VPS.
• Ability to manage multiple parallel activities between support and project work.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with FTPS and SFTP configurations.
• Knowledge of AT-TLS security protocols.
