Description

The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in z/OS networking, TCP/IP configuration, VTAM, SNA, security protocols, and mainframe connectivity technologies.

The engineer will be responsible for ensuring reliable, secure, and high-performing network communications between mainframe and distributed systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and support IBM Mainframe z/OS network environments.
• Configure and maintain TCP/IP stacks, VTAM, SNA, OSA Express, and Enterprise Extender.
• Troubleshoot complex network connectivity and performance issues.
• Implement and manage network security controls, SSL/TLS certificates, RACF integration, and encryption protocols.
• Support mainframe connectivity with distributed systems, cloud environments, and external partners.
• Monitor network performance and capacity planning activities.
• Perform disaster recovery planning and network resiliency testing.
• Work closely with infrastructure, security, storage, and application teams.
• Support network migrations, upgrades, and modernization initiatives.
• Document network architecture, standards, and operational procedures
