Description

You will manage the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of mainframe networking protocols and associated hardware.

Manage SMP/E processes, including interfaces with operations, logs, and automation jobs.

Responsibilities

• Install, upgrade, and maintain VTAM, TCP/IP, OSA, and related products.
• Execute software maintenance and subsystem backup and recovery processes.
• Handle resource definition, security, and administrative tasks.
• Configure printers, FTP, SMTP, and SNMP settings.
• Document all completed tasks and project updates thoroughly.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in mainframe networking environments.
• Deep knowledge of TCP/IP and associated protocols.
• Hands-on experience with SNA, VTAM, and APPN/Enterprise Extender.
• Proficiency with Connect:Direct and other file transfer products.
• Experience with session management products such as TPX, Teleview, or CL/Supersession.
• Experience with network management tools like NETVIEW or Netmaster/TCP/IP.
• Familiarity with print server products such as VPS.
• Competency in GDPSS setup and configuration.
• Strong English communication skills.
