Description

You will own the maintenance and operation of the mainframe networking infrastructure.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and upgrade mainframe networking components including TCP/IP, VTAM, EE, and NetView.
• Troubleshoot communication failures, SNA/VTAM issues, TCP/IP connectivity problems, and performance bottlenecks.
• Implement and maintain network security controls using RACF/ACF2/TSS, AT-TLS, and IPSec.
• Monitor and tune TCP/IP stacks, VTAM definitions, and Enterprise Extender connections for efficiency.
• Develop and test mainframe networking disaster recovery plans.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience with IBM z/OS mainframe networking (TCP/IP, VTAM, SNA).
• Hands-on knowledge of Enterprise Extender (EE), Hipersockets, and NetView.
• Proficiency in configuring IP, routing, DNS, FTP, TN3270, and network encryption protocols.
• Experience with SMP/E for applying PTFs and managing maintenance updates.
• Strong skills in troubleshooting, dump analysis, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with JCL, REXX, and network automation tools.
• Experience ensuring compliance with SOX, PCI-DSS, and ITGC policies.
