Description

You will manage system health, stability, and capacity for Tier-0 mainframe platforms through metric analysis and performance optimization.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily system health to identify exceptions and performance bottlenecks in large-scale environments.
• Develop and maintain performance reporting dashboards using MXG, SAS, and Splunk.
• Troubleshoot complex incidents and perform problem resolution for system health conditions.
• Design and document technical solutions for system integrations and capacity planning.
• Participate in a 24x7x365 on-call rotation to support performance restoration.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of mainframe systems experience in multi-processor, multi-LPAR, Parallel Sysplex environments.
• Proficiency with z/OS, zLinux, Windows, TSO, ISPF, and JCL, including batch jobstream modification.
• Deep knowledge of SMF/RMF record types, coupling facility structures, and WLM.
• Hands-on experience with MXG, ThruPut Manager, and capacity management tools.
• 2+ years of SAS programming experience with quantitative statistical methods.
• Practical experience integrating Mainframe data with Splunk for monitoring and analysis.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of zVM, CICS, DB2, Strobe, and Mainview.
