Description

You own the performance management and optimization of mainframe environments.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Maintain operating system performance parameters across mainframe systems.
• Review and implement Workload Manager (WLM) policy changes using IBM WLM ISPF facility.
• Analyze metrics and deltas from chronological tests to research application anomalies.
• Monitor critical system resources and execute real-time performance monitoring.
• Participate in daily scrum meetings and handle day-to-day operational requests.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of technical experience with mainframe demand, capacity, and performance management.
• Thorough understanding of performance requirements for mainframes.
• Knowledge of the relationship between CPU usage, MIPs, and response timings (GP and zIIP metrics).
• Experience running processes to capture performance metrics for specific applications.
• Working knowledge of WLM and its impact on mainframe performance.
• Familiarity with running distributed applications on M/F LPARs.
• Basic understanding of M/F internals and performance implications.
• Experience integrating new technologies with existing mainframe technologies.
• Bachelor's degree.
