Description

You will manage and maintain DB2 databases on IBM System Z mainframes.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement standards, naming conventions, and deployment for multi-data center DB2 environments, including disaster recovery and high availability.
• Lead the adoption of advanced technology or platforms.
• Consult with clients to guide efficient use of IT products.
• Create implementation, testing, and integration plans for DB2 roll-outs.
• Provide technical support to application and data center staff.

Required Skills

• 16+ years of experience managing and maintaining DB2 databases on IBM System Z mainframes.
• Extensive experience with DB2 component installation, support, and roll-outs using BMC Tools and Utilities.
• Complete familiarity with z/OS, TSO/ISPF, and IBM utilities.
• Experience with SMP/E and Sysplex environments.
• Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in Oracle and SQL.
• Knowledge of z/VM, Linux, and MVS systems.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with DB2 integration with Workload Manager (WLM).
• Familiarity with the BMC MainView monitoring tool.
