Description

You will lead a multi-disciplinary team to evaluate and modernize existing mainframe applications, mitigating risk and adopting current industry standards. You will manage the full project lifecycle, from scope definition to implementation, ensuring timely completion through rigorous schedule and timeline maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Lead project execution by assigning responsibilities, enforcing accountability, and defining resource roles across the team.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, timelines, and industry-standard documentation to ensure delivery meets service expectations.
• Manage project scope and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align on objectives and ensure successful implementation.
• Oversee quality control using Agile methodologies and metrics to drive process improvement and problem-solving.
• Facilitate productive meetings and advocate for user adoption during the design and development phases.

Required Skills

• 5-8+ years of project management experience, specifically leading modernization efforts from mainframe to new technology platforms.
• 5+ years of experience utilizing Software Development methodologies including Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid approaches.
• Proficiency with MS Project, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio for documentation and scheduling.
• Experience in scope and requirements definition, problem solving, and process improvement.
• Experience managing projects within a managed services support structure.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

• PMP or Scrum equivalent certification.
• Experience in a government setting managing enterprise efforts to retire legacy applications using Microsoft technologies.
