Description

Lead mainframe modernization and enterprise transformation programs, managing full lifecycle delivery from planning through cloud migration.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Direct mainframe modernization initiatives involving COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, IMS, VSAM, and z/OS environments.
• Manage application migration, rehosting, replatforming, refactoring, and cloud transformation projects.
• Oversee project budgets, resource planning, forecasting, and vendor engagements.
• Lead distributed teams across Development, Infrastructure, Testing, DevOps, Security, and Business functions.
• Manage stakeholder expectations, executive communication, governance, and reporting.

Required Skills

• 10+ years in Project Management, Program Delivery, and Enterprise Transformation.
• Proven leadership of Mainframe Modernization programs.
• Hands-on experience with COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, IMS, and VSAM.
• Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery methodologies.
• Expertise in risk management, issue management, change control, and project governance.
• Experience managing project budgets and resource planning.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).

Preferred Skills

• Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD practices, and modernization frameworks.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
