Description

Define and drive the end-to-end QA strategy for large-scale System Z rehost and modernization initiatives. Validate functional parity, data integrity, and performance as mainframe workloads migrate to cloud or Linux platforms.

Responsibilities

• Define QA strategy, scope, and testing approach for mainframe rehost transformation, covering functional, regression, data, batch, and performance testing.
• Validate rehosted workloads on Linux/Cloud platforms, coordinating with migration teams on JCL conversion, scheduler migrations, and batch execution.
• Execute data validation strategies for file-based and database migrations, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and referential integrity between source and target systems.
• Lead and mentor QA teams, overseeing test case design, defect triage, and resolution across development, migration, and platform teams.
• Enhance testing efficiency using automation frameworks, JCL simulators, file comparison tools, and performance testing utilities.

Required Skills

• 10–15 years of QA experience with a strong mainframe background.
• Hands-on understanding of COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, and CICS.
• Proven experience in mainframe rehost or modernization programs targeting AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience validating JCL conversion, scheduler migrations (CA-7, Control-M, AutoSys), and batch job execution.
• Ability to perform parallel run testing and validate system behavior after re-platforming.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Excellent communication and leadership capabilities for stakeholder management.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud-native data stores and hybrid architectures.
• Exposure to performance tuning and optimization in rehosted environments.
