Description

You will design, develop, and maintain core banking applications on the IBM Mainframe platform, ensuring system stability and performance for critical payment processing workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize COBOL, CICS, and DB2/SQL applications for high-volume banking transactions.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical designs for mainframe and open systems integration.
• Manage batch processing jobs using JCL, TSO, and VSAM, ensuring efficient resource utilization.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call support rotations, conducting audits and leading annual disaster recovery exercises.
• Integrate mainframe systems with third-party services using SOAP and REST web services.

Required Skills

• 8-10 years of hands-on experience with IBM Mainframes, specifically COBOL, CICS, DB2/SQL, JCL, and TSO.
• Strong background in the Banking Domain with specific exposure to ACH, PEP, and Payment systems.
• Proficiency in mainframe utilities and file transfer mechanisms.
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and clear verbal/written communication.
• Experience in analysis and design phases of the software development lifecycle.
• Availability for 24/7 on-call support and mandatory 5-day/week office presence in Cincinnati, OH.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Open Systems technologies including Linux (CHRON), scripting, and SQL.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Nexus, and Ansible, and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with test automation tools and Agile methodology.
