Description

You will manage z/OS 2.4 subsystems, including VTAM, TCP/IP, and JES2, ensuring production stability and performance.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and migrate software using IBM SMP/E and IEBCOPY.
• Implement and verify backup, recovery, and Disaster Recovery procedures as the focal point for the IBM DR process.
• Monitor system software access, performance, resource utilization, and security authorization policies.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developers regarding software management and deployment strategies.
• Act as a liaison between application programmers and vendors to resolve software issues.

Required Skills

• 20+ years of experience in mainframe software management, specifically with VTAM and TCP/IP subsystems.
• Expertise in OSA Adapters, IP, VTAM, SSL/TLS traces, IP Routing, VIPA, and hyper-sockets.
• Proficiency with FTPS, SFTP, AT/TLS, VVP, JQP, MFT, and EntireX.
• Experience with CL Super Session, TN3270, Enterprise Extender, and DR DASD/VTS mirroring.
• Hands-on experience using TSO, ISPF, SDSF, IPTRACE, and NTSTAT.
• Ability to use RACF commands for managing digital certificates and keyrings.
• Ability to write, read, and debug programs in batch and online environments using Assembler, REXX, and CLISTs.
• Solid knowledge of mainframe JCL, utilities, and the z/OS UNIX environment.
• Availability to provide 24/7/365 on-call software support.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Db2.
