Description

You will develop and maintain mainframe software, ensuring code quality and system stability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software code using COBOL, JCL, and REXX, adhering to customer-defined standards and engineering best practices.
• Analyze root causes for batch job failures and implement corrective steps to resolve issues.
• Evaluate the impact of database schema changes on existing software components.
• Participate in peer reviews of project artifacts and update technical documentation.
• Research problems independently or collaboratively to provide technical solutions.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience with COBOL, JCL, REXX, analysis, design, and development.
• Solid experience in Z/OS Mainframe development.
• Proficiency with CLIST, SQL, and relational databases including DB2.
• Knowledge of non-relational mainframe storage technology.
• Experience with File Aid/RDX.
• Exposure to automated unit testing, TDD, and BDD.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Java and Python.
• Experience with modern development software, tools, and methodologies.
