Description

Develop and maintain mainframe software code and JCL following established engineering standards. Own the debugging process for batch job failures and implement corrective actions. Evaluate database schema impacts on existing components and maintain technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain COBOL, JCL, and REXX code adhering to customer-defined standards.
• Analyze root causes for batch job failures and implement corrective actions.
• Evaluate the impact of database schema changes on existing software components.
• Participate in peer reviews of project artifacts and maintain technical documentation.
• Research technical problems independently or collaboratively to provide solutions.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience with COBOL, JCL, and REXX.
• Expertise in Z/OS Mainframe development.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and DB2.
• Experience with non-relational mainframe storage technology.
• Proficiency in CLIST and debugging/troubleshooting complex systems.
• Experience with automated unit testing, TDD, and BDD.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Willingness to work on-site in Windsor Mill or Milford Mill, MD, at least 2 days a week.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with File Aid/RDX.
• Knowledge of Java and Python.
