Description

You manage Db2 for z/OS database systems, handling installation, customization, testing, and maintenance. You own the release pipeline for database software, utilities, and fixes.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Test database software, utilities, and fixes in sandbox environments before production rollout.
• Migrate approved software and utilities to production environments and manage database migrations.
• Monitor database performance to identify bottlenecks, inefficient queries, or corrupt indexes.
• Execute database recovery tasks during disaster recovery exercises and maintain recovery documentation.
• Schedule and verify database backup tasks and perform routine statistic reporting.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in Db2 for z/OS.
• Mainframe environment expertise.
• Database troubleshooting and issue resolution.
• Database tuning and optimization, including rebuilding indexes.
• Experience with disaster recovery planning and execution.
• Ability to develop database configurations and objects based on business requirements.
• Any Graduate degree or equivalent relevant experience.

Preferred Skills

• Mentor less experienced administrators on routine tasks, company policies, and server configurations.
