Description

You will manage mainframe storage environments, ensuring data availability through effective administration and disaster recovery planning. You own the lifecycle of storage resources from initialization to recovery.

Responsibilities

• Initialize and add new DASD and tape volumes to the environment.
• Perform space management tasks including VTOC resizing, defragmentation, and dataset compression or reclamation.
• Define and manage SMS rules, client routines, and storage dataset reorganizations for HSM CDS and Catalog files.
• Execute disaster recovery planning and perform recovery tests involving tape, DASD replication, and GDPS.
• Conduct problem determination, root cause analysis, and resolution to meet service level agreements.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of experience in Mainframe Storage Administration.
• Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree.
• Proficiency with DSS, JCLs, and VSAM.
• Hands-on experience with HSM and CA1.
• Technical knowledge of CSM, DS8K, and VTS.
• Experience managing GDPS replication and copy services.
• Competency with Vantage, STOPX37, and Catalog Recovery Plus.
