Description

You manage Mainframe Storage Systems, including Tape and DASD environments, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery readiness.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Administer DASD and VTS/Grid systems, including IBM DS8k and TS7k hardware.
• Manage Tape systems using IBM RRM and OAM, including virtual tape solutions.
• Implement replication strategies using Global Mirror, Global Copy, FDR Software, and ACS Routines.
• Configure and maintain DFSMS, DFSMShsm, and Catalog/ICF management via IDCAMS and ISMF.
• Coordinate with backup/recovery teams for DR readiness, FlashCopy/Snap, and test execution.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience managing Mainframe Storage Systems (DASD and Tape).
• Deep expertise in IBM DS8k, TS7k, DSCLI, and CSM tools.
• Proficiency in IDCAMS, ISMF, Dcollect, and ACS Routines.
• Strong knowledge of DFSMS, SMS, DFHSM, and storage groups/classes.
• Experience with disaster recovery planning and execution within Mainframe environments.
• Ability to handle hardware/software MLC and code load updates.
• Strong documentation, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience mentoring junior team members and providing technical guidance.
