Description

You will manage and engineer virtual tape architectures and mainframe storage systems on-site in Durham, NC.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and resolve engineering problems within virtual tape architectures.
• Design, build, and manage Storage Management Systems (SMS).
• Support disaster recovery planning, testing, monitoring, and restoration for virtual tape storage.
• Gather process requirements to automate workflows into Ansible playbooks.
• Produce operational documentation using industry best practices in technical writing.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience as a Mainframe Storage Engineer.
• Extensive experience with virtual tape architectures, including Dell/EMC, VSM, VLE, and ZFS Virtual Tape Libraries.
• 5 years of experience with IBM Job Control Language (JCL).
• 4 years of experience with CA-1 Tape Management System (TMS) and CA Vantage.
• 4 years of experience in disaster recovery for virtual tape storage systems.
• 3 years of experience designing and building Storage Management Systems (SMS).
• 2 years of experience with Data Domain Management Center (DDMC) and Data Domain.
• 2 years of experience using Time Sharing Option (TSO) and ISPF on mainframe systems.
• Expertise in the Linux command-line environment and z/OS.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Cyber Recovery on virtual tape systems.
• Experience designing, installing, and provisioning storage hardware in multi-node architectures.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
