Description

You will architect, configure, and maintain z/OS infrastructure, networking, and system programming environments.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support mainframe networking protocols including SNA, VTAM, TCP/IP, and OSA interfaces.
• Configure z/OS architecture, Sysplex integration, CFRM policies, and LPAR management.
• Install and maintain z/OS releases, RSU maintenance, SMP/E, IOCP, HCD, and PARMLIB.
• Perform performance analysis, tuning, capacity planning, and workload management (WLM).
• Lead hardware/software upgrade projects, datacenter migrations, and disaster recovery procedures.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in z/OS System Programming and System z architecture.
• Deep expertise in z/OS networking: SNA, VTAM, TCP/IP, OSA, and OSPF.
• Hands-on experience with Sysplex configuration, LPAR management, and system integration.
• Proficiency in SMP/E, IOCP, HCD, and PARMLIB system configurations.
• Strong knowledge of JCL, utilities, batch/online processing, and ISV products.
• Experience with performance tuning, capacity planning, and resource utilization monitoring.
• Ability to define security policies, access controls, and software usage standards.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with JES3 environments and advanced incident/problem determination.
• Background in datacenter migration and exit planning for mainframe systems.
