Description

You will manage and maintain DB2 subsystems and the z/OS operating system environment.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Maintain DB2 subsystems in a z/OS environment, including software installs, upgrades, and maintenance.
• Perform ongoing maintenance, patching, and administration of z/OS, storage systems, and Unix System Services.
• Diagnose and resolve complex DB2 and related product issues while tuning for performance.
• Provide technical leadership, documentation for best practices, and production off-hour or weekend implementation support.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience with z/OS, JES2, SMP/E, TSO, and IOCP/HCD.
• Hands-on experience with DB2 subsystem maintenance and database system recovery.
• Proficiency with VTAM, TCP/IP, and Unix System Services.
• Experience with mainframe CPU installs as a systems programmer consultant.
• Working knowledge of IBM utilities including IDCAMS and IEBFR14.
• Experience using monitoring tools such as OMEGAMON.
• Knowledge of IBM virtual tape systems and large-scale enterprise implementations.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with CICS and IMS.
