Description

Own the analysis and design of mainframe-based financial services systems, bridging core trading concepts with technical implementation.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Gather requirements and analyze current-state versus future-state system processes.
• Perform system analysis involving COBOL, VSAM files, and 3270 screens within the mainframe environment.
• Design and evaluate SOAP and REST APIs to ensure effective integration.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for relational databases including mainframe DB2 and Oracle.
• Translate business needs for stock trading and mutual funds into technical specifications.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in systems analysis and design.
• Proficiency in COBOL and VSAM file management.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, specifically mainframe DB2 and Oracle.
• Hands-on experience writing SQL queries.
• Understanding of API architectures, including differences between SOAP and REST.
• Ability to navigate mainframe environments and interpret 3270 screens.
• Basic understanding of core trading concepts, stock trading, and mutual funds.
