Description

Lead the analysis, design, and development of critical mainframe applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis, design, and development of mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, IMS DB, and DB2.
• Manage and mentor a team of mainframe developers, providing direction and fostering skill development.
• Define and enforce architectural standards; lead design sessions for complex solutions.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards through regular code reviews and performance tuning.
• Coordinate with offshore teams and QA to align priorities, testing strategies, and automation initiatives.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in mainframe development.
• Proficiency in COBOL and JCL.
• Hands-on experience with IMS DB and DB2.
• Proven ability to design scalable technical solutions for complex business problems.
• Experience coordinating with cross-functional and offshore teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience presenting technical designs and project status to senior management.
• Background in partnering with business stakeholders to assess feasibility.
