Description

You will own the testing lifecycle for mainframe applications, ensuring stability and compliance in banking environments.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Analyse business requirements and functional specifications to design comprehensive test cases and scripts.
• Execute system, integration, regression, and UAT support testing for core banking modules.
• Validate batch jobs (JCL), CICS transactions, DB2/IMS databases, VSAM files, and reports.
• Identify, log, track, and retest defects using JIRA or HP ALM.
• Provide root cause analysis for defects and suggest improvements to enhance system stability.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Mainframe Testing with COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM.
• Proficiency with File-Aid, Abend-Aid, and job scheduling tools like CA7 or Control-M.
• Domain knowledge in Hogan (Deposits), ALS (Loan servicing), CACS (Collections), or ACAPS (Credit cards).
• Strong ability to analyse backend data using SQL/DB2 queries for validation.
• Deep understanding of STLC, SDLC, Agile methodologies, and QA best practices.
• Experience coordinating with business analysts and developers to ensure requirement traceability.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with strong communication abilities.
