Mainframe z/OS Administrator

You will administer and maintain critical mainframe environments running z/OS.

Responsibilities

• Perform system configuration, installation, and maintenance using SMP/E and vendor software in the mainframe environment.
• Execute Operating System upgrades and RSU maintenance via z/OSMF Workflow.
• Architect, install, and configure complex z/OS environments and third-party software.
• Support software standardization and implement new features across the platform.
• Collaborate with storage, performance, and security teams to manage z/OS operations and procedures.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of professional experience as a Mainframe System Programmer in z/OS & ISVs.
• Expertise in z/OS Administration, including V2.5 upgrades or later.
• Expertise in ISV Administration, covering IBM and Broadcom software product installations and upgrades.
• Mastery of z/OS system commands, utilities, and automation tools.
• Proficiency with IODF and HCD Skillset for adding new devices.
• Fluent in JCL and IBM Utilities (IEBGENER/IEBCOPY/AMASPZAP/DFDSS).
• Experience designing project plans (upgrades, maintenance, decom) and formulating roadmaps.
• Basic knowledge of REXX/CLIST and ISPF/TSO operations.
