Description

You will manage, install, and support IBM z/OS mainframe systems and independent software vendor (ISV) products.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Install, customize, test, and document ISV products and z/OS software using IBM SMP/E, resolving installation issues and managing packages.
• Create, secure, and troubleshoot z/OS USS file systems, mount points, and parameters using PARMLIB.
• Manage mainframe communications including VTAM, TCP/IP, and FTP, and support z/OS Sysplexes and CFRM policies.
• Provide 24/7/365 production support, including off-hour and weekend on-call coverage for implementations and troubleshooting.
• Mentor junior team members and create detailed documentation for software/hardware installations and upgrades.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience managing IBM Mainframe z/OS Systems.
• Deep expertise in z/OS, z/OSMF, JES2, JES3, TSO, SMP/E, IOCP/HCD, and RACF.
• Experience with IBM z/OS communications products: VTAM, TCP/IP, and FTP.
• Proficiency in creating and debugging z/OS parameters via PARMLIB and managing USS environments.
• Hands-on experience with ISV products such as BMC, SFTP, FDS, PKZip, Precisely Stream Weaver, Finalist, Zena, and LRS.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong problem-solving, documentation, and independent work skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Rexx scripting for automation and system management.
• Proven ability to provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior DBAs.
