Description

Develop and maintain COBOL applications on IBM z/OS, supporting migration and modernization initiatives.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain COBOL code using JCL, VSAM, DB2, IMS, and CICS.
• Execute batch processing and online transaction processing workflows.
• Utilize IBM utilities, TSO/ISPF, and Abend-AID for development and debugging.
• Leverage AI/ML tools (CoPilot, WatsonX, ReDux) for code analysis and modernization support.
• Collaborate with Java developers on mainframe integration and migration planning.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on COBOL programming on IBM z/OS.
• Proficiency in JCL, VSAM, DB2, IMS, and CICS.
• Experience with mainframe migration projects or modernization initiatives.
• Familiarity with mainframe security protocols, including RACF.
• Knowledge of Control-D, Control-M, and File-AID.
• Understanding of AI-driven code refactoring platforms and process optimization.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with DevOps practices on mainframes, including Jenkins and Git.
• Prior experience with performance tuning on mainframe systems.
