Description

You program and maintain z/OS mainframe systems, owning configuration, installation, and maintenance tasks.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Perform system configuration, installation, and maintenance using SMP/E and vendor software.
• Execute operating system upgrades and RSU maintenance via z/OSMF Workflow.
• Architect, install, and configure complex z/OS environments and third-party software.
• Support storage management, performance tuning, capacity planning, security, and networking.
• Identify and implement system and process improvements within the z/OS environment.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of professional experience as a Mainframe System Programmer in z/OS and ISVs.
• Expertise in performing SMP/E and Non-SMPE installation of ISV products.
• Proficiency in IBM and Broadcom Software product installation and upgrades.
• Mastery of z/OS system commands, utilities, and automation tools.
• Experience with z/OS V2.5 upgrades or later using z/OSMF workflow execution.
• Proficiency in JCL and IBM Utilities (IEBGENER, IEBCOPY, AMASPZAP, DFDSS).
• Familiarity with ISPF/TSO and basic z/OS operations.
• Basic knowledge of REXX/CLIST.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with complex z/OS environment architecture.
