Description

You will manage and maintain the integrity of mainframe systems infrastructure and software environments.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Monitor systems for abnormal CPU consumption and transaction volume to ensure stability.
• Upgrade and maintain CICS and OEM vendor products.
• Diagnose, isolate, and debug software problems, referring vendor-specific issues appropriately.
• Add new resource definitions to the CSD for transactions, files, and Java components.
• Coordinate the installation, testing, and maintenance of systems software while minimizing user impact during downtime.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of IT experience, including extensive systems programming.
• Deep expertise in z/OS and CICS.
• Proficiency with JCL and ISPF.
• Experience with RACF security environments.
• Strong understanding of operating systems and foundation architecture.
• Ability to write or debug programs to control operating systems, networked systems, and database systems.
• Experience with systems software hardware builds and disaster recovery protocols.

Preferred Skills

• Integration experience with DB2, IMS, or MQ.
• Knowledge of Federal STIG guidelines.
