Description

You will manage and support z/OS operating systems and subsystems in a 24x7x365 environment.

Responsibilities

• Install, customize, and maintain vendor software products following standard naming conventions.
• Coordinate with vendors and application staff to implement patches, fix packs, and maintenance upgrades during off-peak windows.
• Configure security rules using RACF and manage system interfaces for Transaction Services.
• Monitor system performance using specialized software and tune configurations to maximize throughput.
• Document new systems in user guides and compose technical bulletins regarding system changes.

Required Skills

• Minimum 4 years of progressive programming including 2 years of systems programming.
• Extensive experience with z/OS operating systems and subsystems.
• Hands-on experience with CICS, IMS, and RACF.
• Proficiency with MQ and WebSphere.
• Demonstrated ability in third-party program product installation and administration.
• Experience performing software upgrades and patches.
• Ability to analyze client-reported problems and establish corrective action plans with vendors.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of distributed systems and middleware technologies.
• Understanding of basic networking principles.
