Description

You will build API interfaces over existing IMS applications using HATS, Z/OS Connect, and IMS Connect technologies.

Responsibilities

• Capture and automate complex IMS conversational screen flows for modern API consumption.
• Design and implement reusable HATS modules and REST services that encapsulate green-screen navigation.
• Integrate HATS-generated services with Z/OS Connect API provider to deliver REST APIs for downstream systems.
• Analyze MFS screen programs to separate business logic, presentation logic, and data access components.
• Refactor legacy COBOL/IMS programs into callable modules (LUWs) for stateless integration architecture.

Required Skills

• 5+ years experience in mainframe modernization and API enablement projects.
• Proficiency with IMS and COBOL.
• Experience with HATS, Z/OS Connect, and IMS Connect.
• Knowledge of MFS, COPYBOOK, LTERM, CSA, and REST API development.
• Ability to implement IMS Connect user exits.
• Experience installing and configuring HATS Studio and Z/OS Connect EE.
• Skills in optimizing IMS transaction throughput.
