Description

You will manage machining processes and equipment installation for heavy equipment manufacturing in Lafayette, IN.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Develop manufacturing processes and procedures using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
• Execute equipment installation projects including foundations, utilities, hoists, fixtures, and runoffs.
• Lead project planning from initial layout and design through vendor quotes and procurement.
• Create and update quality and manufacturing processes for heavy equipment components.
• Perform design reviews, ECN, and CPPD while ensuring compliance with ISO and safety policies.

Required Skills

• 8-10 years of experience as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer in heavy or agricultural equipment environments.
• Expertise in CNC setup and troubleshooting, specifically CNC lathes and Vertical/Progressive CNC Boring Machines.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for layouts and engineering drawings.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, PFMEA, APQP, and AIAG guidelines.
• Hands-on experience with PPAP, Control Plans, and Capital Projects.
• Competency in Lean Manufacturing tools including 5S, Kanban, and Standard Work.
• Ability to produce formal technical reports.

Preferred Skills

• ASQ certification in Six Sigma or Quality (CQE).
• SME certification in Lean Manufacturing.
• Previous experience with Caterpillar equipment or processes.
