Description

Design marine outfitting, piping, structural, electrical, and HVAC systems for ships, barges, and tugs. Model marine distributive piping systems, equipment, and pipe supports in 3D using Ship Constructor. Develop production and fabrication drawings including arrangements, spools, and isometrics. Identify dimensions, valves, equipment, and materials within production drawings. Draft 2D sketches and drawings for production use as required. Interpret technical procedures, shipyard standards, and regulatory body requirements to ensure compliance.

Responsibilities

• Model marine distributive piping systems, equipment, and pipe supports in 3D using Ship Constructor.
• Develop production and fabrication drawings including arrangements, spools, and isometrics.
• Identify dimensions, valves, equipment, and materials within production drawings.
• Draft 2D sketches and drawings for production use as required.
• Interpret technical procedures, shipyard standards, and regulatory body requirements to ensure compliance.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of drafting or design experience, preferably in the marine piping field.
• Proficiency in Ship Constructor, AVEVA, NUPAS, or CADMATIC.
• Strong working experience with AutoCAD (2014 or later) for 2D and 3D drafting.
• Working knowledge of piping systems, equipment arrangements, and system diagrams.
• Ability to read and analyze professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
