You define and implement market data requirements, bridging business stakeholders and engineering teams.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Gather and document market data requirements from trading, risk, operations, and compliance.
• Translate business needs into detailed functional and technical specifications for engineering.
• Analyze vendor feeds (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, ICE, SIX, S&P) to define ingestion logic and transformation rules.
• Collaborate with data engineers to design market data ingestion and distribution workflows.
• Define and validate business rules for data cleansing, deduplication, and normalization.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a Market Data Analyst or Business Analyst in financial services.
• Deep knowledge of market data vendors: Bloomberg (BDP, BVAL), Refinitiv, ICE, and SIX.
• Strong understanding of financial instruments: equities, fixed income, FX, and derivatives.
• Advanced SQL for complex querying, data exploration, and profiling.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis, transformation scripting, and validation logic.
• Experience with Snowflake, including structured and semi-structured data.
• Hands-on experience with data formats: CSV, XML, JSON, FIX, and FpML.
• Experience with API-based data access and version control using Git.
• Proficiency with JIRA and Confluence.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud-native data services.
• Experience building or supporting a Market Data Hub, golden source, or enterprise reference data platform.
• Knowledge of data quality, lineage, and governance tools such as Collibra or Alation.
