Description

You will evaluate and select materials to meet specific design objectives regarding strength, weight, heat resistance, conductivity, and cost.

Responsibilities

• Recommend material selections based on design requirements and cost constraints.
• Study atomic structures to develop new applications for mechanical, electrical, or chemical properties.
• Conduct or supervise testing on raw materials and finished products to ensure quality.
• Analyze failure data and lab results to determine root causes and develop technical solutions.
• Determine fabrication and joining methods while monitoring material performance and deterioration.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in materials engineering.
• Strong knowledge of metals, plastics, elastomers, polymer composites, and ceramic materials.
• Expertise in metal engineering and material degradation mechanisms like creep and corrosion.
• Proven experience conducting failure analysis.
• Proficiency with SEM.
• Bachelor's degree in materials science, chemical engineering, or a related field.
• Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Ceramic Art.
