Description

You will design and validate mechanical tools for oil and gas applications, including deepwater field development and carbon capture projects.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design components and assemblies, performing all necessary design and safety calculations.
• Collaborate with simulation teams on FEA/CFD modeling and work with testing departments for HPHT validation.
• Lead design reviews at various project stages and manage prototype component sourcing with Project Managers.
• Apply corrective actions and lessons learned from post-test inspections to final production designs.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of mechanical design experience directly within the oil and gas domain.
• Expertise in SolidWorks for modeling, assembly, drafting, PLM, and PDM.
• Extensive experience in concept and detail design for permanent, open hole, and retrievable packers, and hydrostatic actuation systems.
• Proven track record in DFM, DFA, and FMEA.
• Experience with material selection for HPHT products and detailed tool/test layout creation per API standards.
• Knowledge of API 11D1 and API 19OH compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in GD&T per ASME Y14.5 and ISO 9000/AS 9100 quality systems.
• 5+ years of experience using ERP/MRP (SAP) systems in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in hiring, training team members, and managing KPIs.
