Description

You will design and develop structural and mechanical components for dry vans, refrigerated trailers, and platform trailers.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings using CATIA CAD software.
• Perform engineering analysis including strength, fatigue, vibration, and durability assessments.
• Support design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) initiatives within plant operations.
• Generate and maintain engineering documentation, including BOMs, drawings, and specifications.
• Interface with suppliers to develop and qualify components and materials.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in mechanical design (transportation, heavy equipment, or manufacturing preferred).
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (CATIA).
• Strong understanding of structural design (steel, aluminium weldments).
• Knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing standards.
• Experience with fabrication processes (welding, forming, machining).
• Experience with design release processes and engineering change management.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar).
• Knowledge of corrosion protection, coatings, and material selection.
• Experience in trailer, automotive, or heavy equipment industries.
