Description

Support mechanical design for Land, Marine, Airborne, and Autonomous systems in a 16-month hybrid internship in Richmond Hill, ON.

Responsibilities

• Design and draft mechanical parts and housing assemblies based on technical specifications.
• Develop prototypes and design proposals in collaboration with product groups.
• Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and manufacturers regarding design and fabrication requirements.
• Create rapid prototypes using 3D printers.
• Document all design aspects, including testing, certification, and production staff training.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD software suite.
• Hands-on experience with 3D printing for rapid prototyping.
• Knowledge of environmental, dynamics, and thermal testing standards for regulatory certification.
• Practical knowledge of various materials and process design.
• Currently enrolled as a 3rd or 4th year student working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Design.
• Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team of electrical and system engineers.
