Description

Execute mechanical characterization and qualification tests to support new product development for data center products.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement test plans using statistical principles and corporate MDVT specifications.
• Perform hands-on testing using networking, mechanical, and environmental equipment including Ixias, Smartbits, shock and vibration tables, acoustic tools, HALT, and environmental chambers.
• Analyze test results to identify issues, recommend corrective actions, and evaluate technical readiness prior to manufacturing release.
• Review, edit, and release formal test reports.
• Lift products weighing 30-40 lbs during testing procedures.

Required Skills

• 4+ years of experience in Mechanical Design and/or Test Engineering.
• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering.
• Solid understanding of industry standards including ETSI, IEC, and MIL-STD-810.
• Experience performing first-order thermal and structural analysis and characterization tests.
• Ability to create comprehensive test plans and schedules.
• Working knowledge of networking products related to switching and data centers.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with Pro-Engineer.
• Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE).
